Entry to the floor, plus a seat in the thing everyone wants
A recovery space where the saunas take twenty people but there are only three ice baths. Or a bathhouse with a plunge pool that fits two. Everyone pays for the room; the scarce thing needs its own count.
The shape of the venue
- A shared floor with its own headcount limit.
- Inside it, something with far fewer places than the floor: ice baths, a plunge, a handful of compression chairs.
- Everyone in the extra is also on the floor, so the two counts overlap.
- Memberships usually cover the floor and might cover the extras, or not.
How it is set up in Repose
In the words the app uses. Every number is an example.
The floor is the venue limit
Set the limit on the location to the most people who can be on the floor at once.
A resource for entry, a resource for each extra
A Session resource for floor entry with a long length. An Ice bath resource with a short length, a short gap and three places. Both count toward the venue limit, so someone in an ice bath counts toward the floor too.
Decide what a membership covers
Tick "Included in memberships" on the floor entry, and decide for the ice bath. A membership that covers only entry means members spend a credit for a bath, which you sell as its own pack with its own credit kind.
Sell the extras as their own offers
An ice bath pass is a single visit or a pack with the ice bath credit kind. From the Repose card on the product page, choose Pack of visits and the credit type, and it is done.
What a customer does
- Picks what to book on the block: floor entry, or the ice bath. The block only offers starts that fit both the extra's places and the floor's limit.
- Sees separate balances if you use separate credit kinds, each with its own use-by.
- A member books the floor without spending anything and books the extra with a credit, or without one if the membership covers it.
What this does not cover
- Bundles where one checkout line books two resources at once. A customer books each thing separately.
- Instructors or guided sessions. There is nobody at the front of the room in Repose.
- Reminder emails. The only emails to a customer are a booking confirmation and a cancellation notice.
Questions venues ask
Does someone in the ice bath also take a place on the floor?
If the ice bath resource counts toward the venue limit, yes. That is usually right, because they are on the floor before and after. Untick it only for something in a separate space.
Can I limit members to a few extras a week?
Set "Bookings a week" on the membership product. Past it, a member who holds a spare credit books a paid visit and the confirmation says so; a member with no credit is told why and how to free a place.
Can an intro offer be capped at the first fifty?
Set a limit on the offer. It closes itself at fifty, hides the product and the checkout refuses a stale cart. A standard offer can be set to go on sale when the intro closes.
Venues shaped like this
- Sauna and bathhouse
Sell timed sessions, passes and memberships for a sauna or bathhouse through your Shopify store. Repose counts the people in the room, not seats in a class.
- Ice bath and contrast therapy
Book ice baths, cold plunges and contrast therapy sessions through Shopify. Repose handles a few baths with short sessions, a shared sauna, and passes that cover one or both.
- Recovery lounge in a gym
A sauna, ice bath and recovery area inside a gym, bookable by members and the public through Shopify. Repose sells entry, passes and memberships without touching the gym's own system.
Other shapes
- A shared space with a headcount limit
Sell timed entry to one shared space that fits a set number of people. Repose counts heads minute by minute, staggers starts and never oversells, inside your Shopify store.
- Private rooms by the hour
Rent private rooms by the session: float tanks, private sauna suites, treatment rooms. One booking per room, a turnaround gap between them, sold through your Shopify store.
- Switching from Mindbody or Momence
If you run a recovery venue and sell on Shopify, Repose replaces a class-based booking platform with occupancy-based bookings, memberships on native subscriptions and one checkout.
