How it works

Private rooms, booked back to back

A float centre with four tanks. Two private sauna suites. A room with an ice bath and a sauna that one party has to themselves. Each room is its own thing, with its own turnaround, and a booking takes the whole room.

The shape of the venue

  • Each room holds one booking at a time, whether that is one person or a couple.
  • Rooms have different lengths and different turnarounds. A float needs longer to reset than a sauna.
  • The rooms do not share a headcount: four tanks is four bookings at once, full stop.
  • Some rooms are sold under one kind of pass and some under another.

How it is set up in Repose

In the words the app uses. Every number is an example.

  1. One resource per room, or per room type

Add a resource for each room, or one per type if the rooms are identical, with places set to how many rooms of that type you have. Give each its own session length and gap.

  2. Do not count toward the venue limit

Untick "Counts toward the venue's people-at-once limit" on resources that stand alone, so four float tanks and a sauna suite are counted separately. Keep the limit for anything that genuinely shares air or a changing room.

  3. A credit kind per room type, if the passes differ

If a float pack should not buy a sauna, give each resource its own credit kind and sell packs for each. A venue with one kind of pass leaves this blank.

  4. Memberships that cover some rooms

On each resource, choose whether a membership covers it. A membership can cover the sauna suites and leave the float tanks to credits.

What a customer does

  • Chooses which room to book on the Session booking block, then a day, then a start that is actually free.
  • Sees their credits by kind, with the use-by on each, and spends exactly one on a booking.
  • Someone new can hold a time first and pay for it in the same visit, if you turn that on.

What this does not cover

  • Appointments with a named practitioner. Repose books the room, not the person in it.
  • Add-ons chosen at booking time, such as aromatherapy or towels. Sell those as ordinary products.
  • Reminder emails. The only emails to a customer are a booking confirmation and a cancellation notice.

Questions venues ask

Can one customer book two rooms at once for a couple?

A booking takes one place on one resource. For a couples' room, make the room its own resource with one place; the customer books it once. Two separate rooms means two bookings.

Can a room be booked more than once a day by the same person?

Each resource has a one-per-day setting. Leave it off for rooms a regular might book twice.

What happens between bookings?

The gap before and after on the resource. It belongs to the room, not the booking, so a staff booking gets the same turnaround a customer's does.
