Billing

How the plan is charged through Shopify, what counts, the cap, and what happens when things go wrong.

Repose is billed through Shopify, on the same invoice as your Shopify plan. There is no card to enter in the app. The prices are on the pricing page; this page is the mechanics.

Pay as you go

The default. When you install, Shopify asks you to approve a usage-based subscription with a cap: the most Repose can charge you in a 30-day cycle. You choose the number. The first 100 customer bookings in every cycle are free; every one after that is charged at the per-booking price until the cap is reached.

The Plan page in the app shows the running count for the cycle, the free bookings left, what has been charged and what the cycle will cost.

What is a booking

A booking a customer makes themselves that becomes confirmed, whether with a credit, under a membership, or by holding a time and paying. It is counted once, when confirmed. Staff bookings, cancellations and holds are not bookings.

When the cap is reached

Customers keep booking. Repose never refuses a customer because of billing, and nothing about billing can make a booking fail. Bookings past the cap are queued and charged when the next cycle opens. The app tells you on its banner that the cap was reached, and you can raise it from the Plan page, which sends you to Shopify to approve the new amount.

Bookings that could not be charged

A booking that could not be charged during its own cycle, because the cap was reached or because Shopify could not take the charge at the time, is charged in a later cycle. The Plan page shows the count so it is never a surprise.

Some charges are written off rather than posted late. Repose loses the money rather than surprise you:

  • a charge more than 60 days old;
  • a charge Shopify refused repeatedly;
  • any pay-as-you-go backlog at the moment you move to Pro;
  • anything outstanding when you uninstall.

Pro

A flat monthly price for unlimited bookings, with a number of locations included and a monthly price per additional location. Change to it from the Plan page; Shopify asks you to approve the new subscription. Moving to Pro forgives any pay-as-you-go bookings not yet charged.

Leaving

Uninstall the app from Apps in your Shopify admin. Shopify ends the subscription. Anything not yet charged is written off. Forty-eight hours later Shopify tells Repose to delete everything it holds for your store, and it does. See the privacy policy.

Where the money goes

Repose’s charges are Shopify app charges. Customers’ payments for visits, packs and memberships are your Shopify orders, at your Shopify rates, and Repose takes nothing from them.
